NATAS Holidays 2009

Ah! As I mentioned in ma previous entry, I was headin' to this NATAS travel fair at Singapore Expo today to hunt for some good deals for ma upcoming trips in November. Well, indeed I managed to dig out a good bargain for ma Phuket trip this time round. As accommodation is already settled (will be stayin' at Hilton hotel), I was only lookin' for flight deals.

Approached Pricebreaker and the counter girl told us, "Only left 2 seats." (This is confirmed bullshit, lol.) The carrier is SilkAir and it's only SGD 225 per pax + SGD 30 per pax for service charge (ma air fare to Bangkok flyin' Air Asia was also SGD 250 so this is really a good deal). Timings for the round trip flights are also perfect. Therefore we booked on the spot.

Went around the halls somemore to grab some brochures for Hong Kong and Korea, hehee. Thinkin' of goin' to HK on 12-15 Nov but it's not confirmed... gotta discuss with ma dear colleague this coming week.

Proceeded to Marina Square after that for dinner at Thai Express. I decided to have a change - I ordered the soft-shell crab dish after such a long time (I always ordered green curry with chicken).

Black pepper soft-shell crab with rice

Looks yummy right? But it made me pant like a dog coz the black pepper was sooo spicy! Omg! I just can't take too spicy food.... side-effect: burning tongue; after-effect: burning stomach. Damn~

Ma precious weekends

So super lookin' forward to today as this week's Saturday I'm OFF!!! No doubt I have to make full and good use of this weekend to do what I've been longin' to do... and that's... go shopping!!!! Not shoppin' for clothes tho.... I wanna get ma skincare items and nail color (already runnin' out of color combinations for ma pretty nails hehee). And of course the place to be for me is Etude House. Now, I don't have to step outta Singapore and squeeze with the crowd at the Immigrations to buy ma skincare stuff anymore, and that's the greatest joy for me! Hooray!

This afternoon I met up with Fong ai ai in town and we went for eyebrow trimming at Far East Plaza. Oh gosh, I super dread the threading part. It's painful man!! The Chinese lady who did the plucking and threading for me asked if I wanted to thread away ma facial hair just above ma mouth. Fong then commented, "It's very painful one." And that got me pretty nervous especially when I saw the lady holdin' the thread already. WAH LAU. I can tell you it's REALLY painful. I was like "Ouch!" Luckily I didn't drop tears. I think ma threshold of pain is pretty high lah, wahahah.

Today at Etude House, I spent 68.60 SGD in total on a bottle of toner, a bottle of cleansing oil and 2 nail colors. And, I was issued a membership card. Woohoo! Much better than the one issued by the Etude House outlet in City Square in Malaysia; gotta accumulate so many chops (for 1 chop you gotta spend like RM 30.00 at least) then you can have some discount or rebate or something. What nonsense... and the service here is definitely better than over there. The staff here can say "gamsa hamnida" but the staff in Malaysia can't!

Decided not to have dinner as we weren't too hungry. We went to have some coffee at Starbucks Coffee instead.

Me and ma favourite girl,
known each other for 6 years,
friendship still goin' strong!

Hmmmmm I think I saw some hunk that's why ma eyes opened so big like goldfish eyes... hahaha

Our day ended after coffee as Fong's feet were hurtin' after a long walk from one end to the other of Orchard Road... let's come out again reaaal soon with Minrui, Xian and probably Jace too! ;))

Tomorrow I shall go to the NATAS Travel Fair to check out good deals for ma upcoming trips in November... goshhh I can hardly wait!!!

The biggest dream is gettin' realised

Today, I received an email from Jas with regard to the trip she, Yeng and their other friend are plannin' for next year. Initially I had alot of considerations that were holdin' me back from joinin' them (some people know very well). However after gettin' opinions from other people and thinkin' it over carefully, I've decided and made up ma mind....

Korea, I'm comin' in May 2010!!!

This trip's gonna last for 2 weeks - I will be goin' there a week earlier to meet up with ma friends and hang out with them, then the girls will come to Korea in mid 2nd week of ma trip to spend 5 days 4 nights there.

As for now this is like the biggest anticipation ever! But as usual I've gotta worry whether I will have enough money to spend there. Thinkin' of havin' to scrimp and save for 5 months kinda developed a phobia in me. There's an opportunity cost here - I can't do alot of ma favourite things like shopping, clubbing, drinking, enjoyin' good food. And one more thing: I can't take cab to work often so that means I have to make extra effort to wake up on time. Now I feel the stress man! And this scrimping and saving gonna start right from today. Just got ma salary and I gotta pay ma credit card bill, not forgettin' some debts I gotta pay up. So after that I don't think I'm left with much, once again.

If I were to be able to really save up 1,000 SGD a month from today, I would have 3,000 SGD by end of October and I only have this 3,000 SGD to be spent on 2 trips in November. An impulse shopper like me can never have enough money to spend on overseas trips!!! I wonder how I would survive with this little money. Shit.... headache again. Would money please drop from the sky??

Money, money, money. Must be funny. In a rich man's world.

A little update of ma recent happenings :)

First and foremost, I would like to welcome ma'self back to Blogspot ;p I havent been bloggin' for a donkey's years and everyone was like repeatin' to me "hey u still havent updated ur blog ah?? go update ur blog leh!" I went to delete ma old blog coz there were just 10 posts inside in such a long period of time so I'd rather just create a new one and start all over. Gosh.... I used to have a lot, a lot of crap to blog down in the past but now I'm just simply too lazy to even type a single thing here (tho I'm still uber active on MSN hehe). Anyway, from now on I will make an effort to update ma blog when I'm not too tired....

Work for the past week has been horribly busy due to the withdrawal period that takes place twice a year. For those who are still unsure of what sai kang (shit job) I'm doin', I actually work in a school and I handle student matters at the counter. So, I've got ma fair share of experience with shit students and customers, whether they are local or foreigners. They give me headache all the same. Everytime I would turn to tell ma colleague in Mandarin, "Give me a fish tank." That's big enough to contain all ma blood that I will vomit from servin' all these students.

Ok enough of the bad things. Now I will share the good things that happened to me :))

Last weekend I had ma dream come true...! Ever since last year when ma dreams kept gettin' dashed due to various reasons such as the demonstrations in the country and ma dad's health. But finally last weekend, I could fly to Bangkok with an ease of mind. ^^ Traffic jam in BKK was really bad on the second day - we could get stuck at one same spot for 20 minutes! Gettin' from one mall to another mall could take about an hour....

14 Aug: Mamma Mia musical

Goin' back to ma hotel hehe.

16 Aug: Last minute shopping and flyin' home

On our way to the airport from Platinum mall
after doin' our shopping

Ordered thai fried rice with chilli paste, one bowl of green curry
and fruit punch shake. So hungry na ka.... needed good thai food in
Thailand one last time!!

Me on the plane, still lookin' calm and composed
after runnin' to the plane (it was FINAL CALL).

There was this bloody Singaporean man who cut the queue in front of me at the part where we gotta scan our bags. He told the officers, "Ma gate is closing now ok, can you let me go first." Then I looked at his boarding pass and saw it was the same flight as mine! I was like "Hey ma gate is also closing!" but I doubt he heard. So after I was done with the scanning part, I ran to the plane and I was freakin' lookin' for that fucker while walkin' to ma seat. Count himself lucky I didnt see him. If I found him I would fuck him upside down and I wouldnt even give a damn whether I would be loud or not. Bloody selfish asshole.

Goodbye Bangkok... I will be back!

And thus it's the end of ma happenings in life... for now. Anticipatin' the next trips which would be in September and November! Managed to squeeze out more leaves from the 1.5 Annual Leave that I initially had left for the year... power!
