Onboard Leisure World cruise

28 - 29 June

All I did onboard the gambling cruise was eat, gamble, eat, gamble, watch World Cup matches live, sleep, wake up, eat, gamble, watch live stage performance, then it was time to go home.

The first time I gambled in the casino, I changed 50 SGD and got back a profit of 35 SGD. The second time I changed 50 and lost 50. Then the third time I changed 50, and profited 40. Should have just stopped gamblin' when I won 130 back and I would have gained a profit of 80. Could be used to cover ma cabin cost. Shit!

You can say it was ma first time gamblin' at the table games. Aunties made small talk with me at the tables. One Chinese man sittin' at the Tai-Sai (Big-Small) table also kept talkin' to me even though I wasn't interested in respondin' to him. Throughout the entire time I was playin' Tai-Sai and nothing else. Ma colleague played Tai-Sai and Roulette.

At night we went to catch World Cup matches live at Treasure Cove. Netherlands VS Slovakia and Brazil VS Chile. After the first match, we went to gamble and took a rest in our cabin. Then I dozed off during the broadcast of the second match ahhahaa. Brazil won, happy daoooooooo!!!

Next day we watched a live stage performance at their Paradise Lounge. Omg, the songs the group sang really were classic Chinese, Hokkien and Cantonese songs. Apparently I dedicated two songs by Huang Xiao Hu but the lady singer didn't sing them..... Boring!!! Hmphh.

Left the cruise the second day and went to Changi Airport for dinner at Popeyes. Kids nowadays are so inconsiderate.... Occupy the table with a Coffee Bean cake without makin' any order at Popeyes while there were so many people waitin' to get a table. Irritants...

Yeah that's how I spent ma two off days. Boring yet fun. Lol...... Thanks senior.

Past 2 days

22 June

Last working day before ma 3 off days. Got deployed at the worst counter... Same counter as the day before and even busier. F U C K! Apparently it's not only me who keep gettin' the lousy counters but ma other colleagues too. And it happens only when certain people are in charge. LAZY! Oh yeah whatever. If this is gonna happen again we will all voice out!

After work a few of us went to Vivocity and dined at Dian Xiao Er. Family set for the 5 of us at S$98 subject to tax and service charge. Damn good spread. LOVE good food!

We were late for the Voyage de la Vie show. Show started at 8.30pm but we arrived at 9pm. But late better than never! The show is good, stunts are awesome. Worth watchin'. But I still think the Mammia Mia musical I watched in Bangkok last August (all thanks to ma Thai friend) appeals to me more. Hehehee~ If this musical is comin' to SG, I will definitely catch it again!

After the show, we watched South Africa VS France World Cup match at the forum, along with beer and ice cream. Enjoyyyy!

Then Jack arrived to pick us up for supper. Proceeded to Boat Quay for some roti prata and I had mutton soup too. After supper it's time for World Cup again! South Korea VS Nigeria! We went to Clarke Quay and settled down at this Satay Club where the match was on TV. There were some other Koreans around too. Apparently most of the people there (even locals) were supportin' Korean team, woohooo! And we kept cheerin' "Dae Han Min Guk" lol! Elated that South Korea got into the Top 16..... Yes!!!!

Arrived home at 5am.... Thanks peeps for catchin' the match with me!!!! ^^

Just yesterday.

Woke up to see the sky still dark outside and I thought it was still morning time. But it was already 3.25pm! Wahaha! It was rainin' damn heavily outside, wondered if Orchard Road got flooded again. ;X

Slacked at home till night time and I went to St James to meet ma colleagues at around 12 midnight. Didn't manage to drink and dance enough coz ma colleague was kinda drunk and I felt I had the responsibility to be there with her and take care of her. And then after that we realised there were more people drunk already LOL. Tough night!

Went for breakfast with one of ma colleagues at McDonalds before returnin' home. Came back at 6am. Tired daooooooooooo!!!!

Still sick....

Throat still not fully recovered. Haven't got back ma original voice..... I miss it so much!!!!!

Still havin' cough too.....

Mom and colleagues keep tellin' me to see a doctor but I'm simply tooooo lazy!!!! But okok I will visit the clinic soon..... it's tiring to keep coughin' at night and talkin' in a man's voice.

Yesterday was a bad day... I was stationed at this counter and I was like runnin' in and out of our back room non-stop to get documents photocopied. That was when I thought heels were a burden!!! So I just took off ma heels and moved around at the counter and in the back room.... Heck care already!!!! The chairs at the counter were also a hindrance to ma movement... I was hoppin' left and right past the chairs...

And today!!!! Another damn bloody busy counter. Furthermore today is Monday, a lot a looooootttt of tour buses come from Malaysia. That means busy for us. Shit.....!!!! I almost burst into tears when I learned I would be at that counter for today... Omg I really worked and worked and worked non-stop! Hate the deployment...... Damn the person who arranged the deployment. Sucks!!!!

On sick leave

Yesterday was a bad Sunday.

Woke up late. Ma colleague called me on the phone and I realised I had totally lost ma voice (I think it's because I went to Hooters the evening before to eat and drink beer and cheered for Korea team). Wanted to report sick but it was too late to do so. So I rushed to work, fortunately I could make it on time.

Then, I went to the loo and realised I got ma period. It just came without warning the past few days omg! Before lunch I was fine. Then after lunch ma tummy started to ache more and more.

Stuck in the loo for a few minutes and then I struggled to the clinic by ma'self. Was already feelin' very giddy and I still had to walk some distance to the clinic through the carpark. Hot like hell and I was perspirin'. It seemed to take forever for me to reach the clinic.

When I entered the clinic it was super cold. Havin' cold sweat already. Vice President saw me and asked me how I was. I couldn't talk at all, was in such great pain and furthermore I lost ma voice. After consultation, seein' me in that state, VP thought I couldn't walk out of the clinic ma'self and asked the clinic staff to get a wheelchair for me. Omg I don't want anybody to recognise me as "the pink girl in wheelchair"!!! So I kept shakin' ma head...

Struggled back to the changing room and some colleagues found me and got a shock. They got warm water for me, helped me get ma bag from the counter upstairs and walked me to the taxi stand.

Cab driver made me angry by drivin' the longer route. Omg told him the way but he still drove the wrong way. Damn....

Took a nap after takin' medicine last afternoon and I was feelin' much better in the evening. Tummy cramp is gone.... But till now ma throat is still in a bad condition. ;(((

Wanna thank those who helped when I was in great pain, and everyone else who showered me with concern!! ^^

Great night, great bonding

Went drinking last night at St James with ma group of happening colleagues.... Had a great time playin' finger guessing game and 中技密码 with them... And seein' one by one gettin' high and crazy due to the influence of alcohol (not excludin' ma'self of course).... Everyone huggin' one another.... The guys takin' care of the girls... And then we would discover some stuff thru our eyes.. Hahaha. Shan't elaborate....

Got so tipsy we went back to workplace and ate at Toastbox, just a bridge away. That guy with us was blabberin' some stuff none of us could understand at all. Hahaha!! So I told him to shut up.

Came home at near 6am and I got up at 9am+ to take a shower and now here I am, in front of ma netbook and bloggin' down while waitin' to go to the clinic to get an MC... Feelin' kinda unwell.

Back to reality

Yeah I'm back in Singapore, back in this little red dot, back to reality. Korea is the best place to shop, eat and drink, no doubt. But disappointment somehow struck me at some point of time. It's when you come to realise people's true self when you least expected it all the while. And I haven't in ma life heard of an excuse (or a lie) as lame as what I heard. Anyway, many thanks to those who gave me good memories, and goodbye to those who didn't!

Good and bad things that happened

Today is the 7th of May.... Countin' down to ma flight to Korea tomorrow night! Not that excited about it yet. But I think tomorrow I will start to feel something... As usual I'm flyin' alone again. Coz ma friend couldn't confirm so too bad. I shall enjoy by ma'self!

Earlier in the evening I approached a guest (as old as ma mom) to sign up as our new member. So apparently he showed me his Korean passport and I started a casual conversation by tellin' him I'm goin' to Korea for a holiday. He told me to call him. Then I asked when he will be in Korea, he said he is flyin' back this Saturday. I asked what time his flight is, he said night time. Then I asked him which carrier he is flyin', he said Korean Air. Same flight as me! What a coincidence uh. Then he told me to call him at the airport and he would bring me into KAL Business Lounge. Hmmmmm.... I guess it's better I don't get associated with guests? Never know what kinda trouble I will bring ma'self into....

Another coincidental incident happened. I approached a lady and a guy playin' slots machine together. I took their identification documents and then I found the lady's name super familiar and also the place she works at. I asked the lady if she once worked at Super Cuts at Far East, she said yes. Well, she once cut ma hair, many many years ago, and gave me her name card. She also laughed when I said I recognised her. Didn't know ma memory improved....

Something bad just happened to me lately.... Regarding the bloody Citibank. Super hot thinkin' about it! I thought I'm now eligible to apply their Clear Platinum card. So I was asked to close ma Citi Clear card acount first then apply for the Platinum card. I did so and then they fuckin' rejected ma application. And in order to open back ma Clear card account that I previously held, I have to reapply which will take 7 to 14 working days to process. Now I have no more card left to use in Korea! And they didn't wanna state the reason for rejection. All they say is "It's subject to bank's approval" and "It's against the bank's policy to reveal the reason to customers." Idiots! Now I condemn Citibank to the core!

Bloody busy day

This kind of 'busy' I don't think anyone else can imagine. Especially at the otherwise thought to be "peaceful heaven" counter.

Even before the clock struck 12.30pm, ma colleague and I were kept busy all the way till I finished ma shift at 4.30pm. Just the two of us battlin' with a long queue right in front of us. Totally no time to breathe at all. And the bloody grid phone screen had to keep flashin', and finally ma mobile phone rang. Super Rabbit called, and ma phone rang "Stop callin', stop callin'" (it's Lady Gaga's Telephone chorus) and the guest with me laughed out.

"Called so many times, why didn't you pick up the phone?? Or you guys are carryin' another phone?"

"We're very busy now I have no time to talk to you."

"Hah??? Very busy now ah?? Many people there ah??"

"Yesssss there's a long queue here. I have no time to talk to you."

"Ohh ohhhh okok bye bye bye bye."

Omg she must have been thinkin' we were skivin'!!! On a bloody Sunday I don't see how we can rest and relax there... Especially when people come to know they don't have to pay a levy and they can still do their cards here. -_____-!!! Plus some lame thingy that requires us to photocopy this and that and draggin' even more time.

Didn't manage to eat the whole 8.5 hours and the coffee ma colleague bought for me had already gone cold even before I could drink a sip. Waste money....

Anyway just now after work I met up with ma cousin and auntie whom I've not met for a donkey's years.... Had dinner at Citylink Xin Wang Taiwan cafe. Then cousin and I went window-shopping nearby.... Talked about sooo many things and I realised I had really missed out on a lot of things about her life. I'm glad she contacted me again, if not I don't know if we're even gonna meet in the next few years....

Oh well!!!!!! I hope tomorrow being a Monday is a better day....

Holiday for me!

Leave is approved!! Now waitin' for ma friend to confirm on her side... again....

Away from work for 11 days... This is the current record-breaker in ma department (not takin' into account those who have to be away for their In Camp Training). So I will depart from Singapore on 8 May at night, reachin' Korea on the 9th morning, and then fly back on the 17th. 18th shall be ma rest day and then 19th morning I'm back to work.... Wahahaha this is gonna be an awesome trip....

Earlier on, ma colleague sent me a text about this permanent midnight shift thingy. She said she can't sleep at night so midnight shift suits her best. I'm also thinkin', since I don't sleep too early, then I might as well work at night! I can lose some weight too! And if I'm on permanent midnight shift I can earn hell lotsa money based on the night allowance... Just that I have to sacrifice ma night life.... Oh well!! If I have more money at the end of the month I can enjoy even more on overseas trips.... So I shall give it a try if there's such a chance!! ^^

Something to look forward to again.... ^^

In response to ma previous entry, I didn't actually manage to attend Sammi's concert coz ma colleague wasn't free. So... Maybe this time round I will go for Aaron Kwok's concert again this year!

This May is simply happening! I will be away from work for 11 days (oh, in response to ma previous previous entry, I have cancelled ma April leave and postponed to May)!! Original schedule was 2 days off, followed by 6 days of work, followed by 3 days off. So, I've applied for 4 days of leave and changed for an off day with 2 colleagues, in order not to work the 6 days. This is how I manage to get 11 days off! Wahahaa. Still awaitin' approval of ma leave application though.

Discussed with ma colleague earlier on goin' on a short trip together with some others in June.... He suggested goin' onboard a gambling ship which I think is an awesome idea! Gotta let another colleague of ours know and see what she says....

Yesterday being Tuesday in the Crockfords Tower VIP Lounge was soooooo relaxing.... I didn't have anything to do at all. Basically I was just like a travel agent: lookin' for cheapest flights and hotels online and calculatin' budget for ma'self and sendin' email to ma friend regarding her budget. Lol. I think I'm cut out to be a freelance in this....

Today's gonna be the last working day and then I will have 2 days off..... Woohooo!!

Ma leave is approved immediately by ma manager today!!!!! Love her the most!

Horrid....

Super upset.

The leave for April that I applied on the very first few days of February has just been rejected.

The angry thing is. You guys said right from the start "For 3 or more days of Annual Leave have to apply 2 months in advance". So I applied 2 months in advance. But then now you tell me ma leave is too long, I have to reapply again. From February until now (end of March) you didn't even bother to check first if ma leave application was ok before allowin' me to submit. So much time (a bloody 2 full months) wasted on waitin' and now you say ma leave cannot be approved. So in the first place why should I even bother to apply leave so early since you will only look at our applications when the month of our leave is around the corner? Told you guys so many times to speed up on the approval or else I'm gonna be so out of ma budget for ma trip. So are you going to top up the difference now?

And I still have to look for people who are willing to change their off days with me so that I can make it for ma trip. But then again I will still need your bloody approval before I can go ahead with the booking of ma flight and hotel. Even if I can wait, ma friends might not!!!! If they decide not to go coz too last minute, then ma budget will be even more for the accommodation.... so damn freakin' angry can.

If I get a lot of money for ma March salary, that is STILL ok.... BUT apparently the salary I received last night didn't include the amount this stupid company owes me for the months of January and February as promised to give in that letter. What is this?!?!

Leave like that, salary also like that... Might as well pack ma bag and go.

Midnight shift tonight.... finally.

Haven't been on midnight shift ever since casino opened.... 1 full month has passed and finally tonight is the first midnight for me. Everyone else has done it except me and another colleague in ma team! Can't wait to work tonight... Must be super slack like what other colleagues said... Hahahaa. And not forgettin' the allowance for workin' midnight shift.

Come to think of it, in the past I had not much money but had alot of time. Now, I have more money but no time. So shit!! I seriously feel I'm very deprived of retail therapy...!!! This job can really make one exhausted... We have to bend our backs while workin'.... Furthermore sometimes when we enter the smoking zones, those smoke will be stuck to our make-up. We should be given more time off for massage and facial to make us look more refreshed at work!! If not we're gonna be ageing too prematurely. And I also want ma long trips like before!!! Hope more manpower will come soon....

Should take a nap soon... Don't wanna appear like a zombie by 5am....

Good news...!!!

Yesterday being 18 March 2010 was the opening of our Universal Studios Singapore theme park. ( Yahoo!Singapore news report ) I think it should be so damn crowded! But I couldn't see it ma'self coz I was in the casino all day all night long.

Talkin' about USS, they had a preview specially for the staff of RWS. And so I went on Monday with the rest of ma colleagues!! Had great fun under the scorching hot sun...

We watched the Shrek 4D show, took the ride at Revenge of the Mummy, and most importantly the highlight of the entire theme park - world's tallest duelling roller coaster Battlestar Galactica!!!!

Battlestar Galactica: Human VS Cylon.

Rode on Cylon, the blue track this time round. All the suspending and twirling like cockscrew. At some point it felt like we were goin' into the 4th dimension coz of the water mist. Furthermore sittin' beside me was a colleague who shares the same habit as me when ridin' on roller coaster... I shan't elaborate. Hahaha!

Now comes the good news.....

I've got a pay increment from ma company!!! That means I will be gettin' SGD 1,000 more than ma previous salary at ma previous company. And not forgettin' bonus - 2 months. But I can only get it in September.... Oh well... Increment is more important!!!

End of this month I will get ma revised pay plus additional money that ma company owes me and also ma Overtime pay.... Super lookin' forward!!!

And so I can have more money to spend in Korea next month... Woohoooo!!~

Finally it's 2 days off!!!

Omg.... I've been strugglin' for the past 7 days at work and badly lookin' forward to ma 2 rest days. Everyday I drag ma feet to work, doesn't seem like a good sign. Always workin' for more than 9 hours every workin' day. Even break times are so rushing. Sometimes the system doesn't cooperate, just like the "ghosts" we face everyday at work.

And every single day before the start of shift, I worry if I will be put "up" there which is HELL. Die there and how you die also nobody knows. Can't get help from anywhere and anyone; the only person who can help you is yourself. Shit.....

Yesterday was the last day of ma 7-day stretch. Super fortunately I was being stationed at Festive Grand counter where you don't get much disturbance from people. Been waitin' to be posted there for a long, long time ever since the opening of the counter...!! What an awwwesome way to end ma 7-day-long torture.... It's a wish come true!! But after ma dinner break I had to return to the usual work pace coz the counter closes in the evening. Oh well, it doesn't matter coz a guest complemented me for being "very good" and that cheered me up a little... Hehee.

On 8 March night (which is actually the 9th morning), ma Executive invited me to St James club for some chilling out with the rest of the colleagues so I headed there after ma work. Drank and played some games and did some bonding.... It's been such a long time since we last did that. Simply no time!!! *Sobs* Waitin' for the next session probably in May....

Last night a guest asked me about the 7-month bonus which we will be gettin'. I asked him where he heard this from, he said he read from the Chinese papers. Ma colleague also encountered a guest who asked her. Ma guest told me that ma company might wanna make a public announcement first just in case when Marina Bay Sands opens, people wanna hop over. But the thing is, we don't even know about this internally. So, true or not??? If there's really such a thing then, even if it will cost ma life I will still stick ma ass to this job.... hahahaha.

Hmmm I'm stilllll wonderin' if ma leave in April will be approved.....

Cashier at one of the counters, only in charge of redemption, nothing more, nothing less. Guests were nice to me, except for a few grumpy ones. An auntie even offered to buy Bak Kut Teh for me from one of the restaurants in here... haha. Tiring but happy. ^^

Friday, 5 March:

Crockfords Lounge. Best of the best of the best. Nobody in there except for Directors, Assistant Director and ma'self. Occasionally there were some outsiders poppin' in but other than that, I was just doin' some card processing for the Directors and ma colleague from the other department.

Even though I was up there for the very first time, one of the Directors was very good to me. She poured some of her cranberries in a bowl for me and put on ma desk. And then she made some coffee for her guests but her guests already had their coffee, so she passed me a cup and put on ma desk, and brought me a spoon and some sugar from the pantry area. I felt pampered! ;X

And chit chattin' with me throughout the day is the Assistant Director. At first I thought he was stuck up but after that when he struck a conversation with me, hmmmm he seems not that bad a person. But still I know I have to be wary of ma surroundings at work.

I was the first to finish ma work after shift, for the first time. This is the only day I could have a goooood rest at work ever since the opening day without strainin' ma throat and bendin' ma back too much, seriously. I don't mind being put up there again later today, lol.

Got ma first red packet!

Just came home from a chill-out session with colleagues in town... Finally it's off day for me today, been lookin' forward to this for 6 days!! Thank goodness I'm still alive.

Yesterday evening at last I got ma first red packet from a guest!!! She's such a nice person - patient and didn't give me any sort of trouble. I love this kinda people! And the amount inside is $12, even more than what ma own relatives gave me. Hohohoho....

I also encountered nasty guests who kept bombin' me with questions while I was busy handlin' some matters at hand. You want us to be fast but you wanna distract us... I'd rather you ask me after I'm done with your request. Slow, complain. Lousy service, complain. So contradicting. And if you want us to be nice to you, do not be demanding and rude. We are not here for you to test our patience....

Now the situation at work is sort of gettin' better. The queue is now more manageable. Or maybe it was Sunday night that's why. Ahhhhh....

I wonder if ma leave application for April will be approved!!! ;\\

5th day of opening

Today is the third and final morning shift before ma next off day. Last morning I woke up at 5.30am and I was like "What??? So fast it's 5.30am and I have to go work again..." And this morning I woke up at 4am+ and found ma'self on ma chair and right in front of ma netbook.... Then I decided to just continue sleepin' on the chair for another hour. Coz if I were to go to bed, I sure oversleep. ;\\

Wanted to take sick leave as I felt really too tired. But come to think of it, I'd rather save ma sick leave for some other time, don't waste it first. ;p

Another dragon queue today. There were some disagreements and unhappiness among guests in the queue. Oh well.... All I can say is they have to live with it. Don't blame us for being slow....

3 more working days... Starting from tomorrow I have to work from 5.30pm to 2am but I think I will have to stay back every night to help out with the overwhelming crowd...

This job is not funny man...!

Super busy day after 2 rest days....

Back to work today... Seriously, I've never had a time in ma life when I couldn't leave the counter for a toilet break or even a sip of water for the ENTIRE day. And the last time I got a terrible backache was 5 years ago when I had to get used to bendin' ma back at work during ma internship days in the hotel (I worked in the front office back then).

Today from 8.30am when we took over from the previous shift, we were occupied all the way past noon time and till the very last minute of our shift. I had ma lunch only at 3.30pm at the back office and I kept it short at 15 minutes. As usual, our Director bought all of us take-away lunch. And he gave us red packets each in the morning. So nice of him!

Though busy, I was happy coz I received complements from guests on ma service. Hahahaa. But I also had ma fair share of dealin' with idiots. After ma experience with 3 idiots at the counter today, I think ma patience is really well-trained. I managed to keep ma smile all the way while they kept makin' things difficult for me. Wanna eat me up huh... I make sure no way they can do that!!

3 occasions on 1 day

14 February 2010 marks Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day and also the opening day of our casino. Spotted many huge cameras and photographers and media just outside the casino, waitin' to film the opening ceremony. At 12.18pm (the auspicious hour) when we officially allowed entry into the casino, it looked almost like there was a tsunami. Too many people.... And the crowd got bigger and bigger towards later part of the day, and not forgettin' the dragon queue outside the membership counter.

Supposed to be a happy occasion but ma mood was ruined by certain people. Not from ma department of course, I love ma colleagues too much. All wonderful people!!

Just not happy that I had to look at their faces as long as a horse's. Even guests didn't show me a black face; they were all kind to me and understanding! Silver, Gold and Platinum guests, mind you. I'm particularly unhappy with one guy who actually rolled his eyes at me. Wtf... I will find ma chance to roll ma eyes at him too! Who the hell does he think he is? Not even a guest here. He wanna scold me, then I scold who? I scold the system? Or I scold the person who created this system? Bloody hell.... Got no eyes to see I was so busy with so many cards? Everyone just freakin' pushed their guests' cards to me sayin' I had to process for them "NOW". Well, I should practise something called "selective hearing".

I'd rather face the uncles and aunties than "those" people... At least some of the uncles and aunties are friendly and lovable.

Today is ma off day and I can have a good break from work. But startin' from tomorrow, it will be a stretch of 6-day work non-stop. Sian...

Oh, too bad I missed the firecrackers and even more unfortunately, I missed ma chance to appear on TV!!!!

Anyway.... At almost midnight I met up with Angele at Clarke Quay and settled down at Yello Jello for some margarita and beer. Had to destress ma'self before I see ma'self in distress....

Joined the queue at the cab stand and we waited for an hour for our turn to get a cab!!! Totally horrid....

Our casino license has finally been granted today.... Good news for everyone! But that would mean I have to really slog at work on Chinese New Year with ma colleagues.... And not forgettin' having to celebrate Chinese New Year with all the gamers....

Ma most happening day this year

31 January 2010, which is actually yesterday, was so far the most happening day of this year for me.... I received the news early morning about the approval of ma employee license and I was over the moon! Just 4 days from the date of ma interview and I've gotten ma license already.... Wanna thank the kind interviewer!

After work I went to Universal Studios with ma colleagues to try out the rides. Took the Enchanted Airways dragon coaster and Battlestar Galactica. Humans versus Cylons... I went for the Human one. Totally scary and made ma legs turn jelly. Wanted to take Cylon but we had to wait more than half an hour so we gave up.

I shopped at the stores and spent a total of 180 bucks. Lol... I've just contributed ma funds to ma big, big, big boss again.... But it's all worth it ^^

Today we went there again, this time round it was for lunch. Pretty good chicken, but super deep fried. Not good to eat too much especially when I'm already growin' fatter.... Hahahaha.

Bought a small bag at Vivocity specially to squeeze into ma work locker. There go ma Korean bag and Guess long wallet.... ;\\

Ma first midnight shift

Two words: Fun, tiring.

Before work I met up with ma colleague at Orchard Road coz we wanted to get some cosmetic stuff. She got Laneige loose powder and I bought ma toner at Etude House. There was this Korean man standin' outside the shop shoutin' to attract people into the shop. Apparently we caught him fallin' asleep while shoutin' and then he saw me gigglin'. Then he gave a very wide smile which I can still remember vividly hahahaha super funny... After that we went to Wisma as I wanted to check out the BB cream from Gowoonsesang. Seems not bad so I bought it.

Took the train to Harbourfront and had some coffee at McCafe to perk ourselves up for the shift later. Shortly, another colleague met us up and we went to work together.

Midnight shift earlier turned out to be quite ok. Did what we had to do, but when it was around 2am ma eyelids started to feel heavy and ma eyes started to feel a little painful and dry. By 5am, I already felt weary and by 6am I wanted to rest ma head on the table. Lol...

One of the security guards made me super furious... He talked to me in a damn fierce tone for doin' something I wasn't supposed to do. C'mon... our workplace hasn't even opened and no one was around at all, furthermore I'm also one of the staff! He also was doin' something he wasn't supposed to be doin', so why the fuck should he tell me off? Bloody shit, I will remember his eff face!

The clock ticked at 7am and I found ma'self sittin' very still on ma chair, stonin' and waitin' for the morning shift people to arrive. At 8.10am our executive told us to leave the office and wait to clock out at 8.30am, so we proceeded to the canteen first. Colleagues from other departments texted me to say they saw me stonin'... Hahaha ma expression must have been too obvious.

Slept the entire day and ma off day has just been wasted like that. Workin' at 7am later... Totally sucks!!!! I want one more off day.... Sobsss.

Ma schedule for the past week

Last weekend I believe is ma final long weekend before the commencement of our 24-hour rotating shift. Apparently in ma entire group, I'm the only one who got an off day on Monday... And then on Tuesday I had a roadshow to do. So I actually stayed away from ma workplace for 4 days. Everyone was so envious of me haha!!...

Saturday

I, together with Angele, Jacq and another colleague of theirs, headed to Rose's house for her baby's full-month celebration. There was a buffet spread and yummy cakes for dessert. After food came wine! Shiraz 2008 if I didn't remember wrongly. Freakin' strong but I still drank a few glasses lol.

Rest day at home.... Nice.

Monday

Another rest day.... But on this day I went out to Harbourfront to meet up with ma colleagues. I actually wanted to pass to ma colleague some documents for scanning, but I ended up meetin' a whole group of them as a colleague was treatin' us to a farewell meal..... ;((

Chilled out at Starbucks after the meal with two colleagues, then I went to town with one of them for some window-shopping. Thought of gettin' some Korean fashion magazines from Kinokuniya...

Tuesday

Roadshow at Chinatown. Wanted to kill ma colleague for makin' me wait at the subway station for him but in the end he reached the roadshow venue before me due to miscommunication. And I had to literally rush to the venue despite being half an hour early at the station... -___-!!! Anyway when we reached there, nobody was around except for the security guard guardin' the booth. So we were still uber early...

Within the first 2 hours, I could already feel ma throat like a broken-down recorder. Finally at around 2pm we went for lunch. Gotta look for an eatery where we could get a request for reimbursement.

So ma colleague and I walked and walked and finally we found one eatery house but their service sucked to the core! I asked initially if they could generate a receipt and that China lady said yes. After orderin', she keyed in all the stuff into her cash machine but in the end nothing came out. She added one more drink item into the machine and the receipt came out that amount for the drink. Then she wrote the total amount on that receipt. I told ma colleague, "How the hell would they believe this receipt?" So he went back to the cashier to request for another receipt, and he came back with a similar receipt with only the correct amount.

Besides this, they didn't deliver to us our "salad prawn" and watermelon juice. We had to go and ask for them. And then the "salad prawn" turned out to be "fish cake with mayonnaise". Vegetarian food... omg sucks. Simply a bad experience.

Went back to the roadshow booth and had another bad half of the day. Uncle shoutin' and everybody squeezin' to get lucky draw cards. There are even people who could tell lies to get an extra lucky draw card. Omg.............. nothing to say.

Next Sunday I'm gonna do the roadshow again... I've developed a phobia already. ;((

Wednesday

Clocked in at work and then I left the island shortly for ma interview with the CRA. The lady who interviewed me was suuuuuper nice.... Perhaps coz I picked up her call and reached there early? She even told another interviewer that I'm a very sweet girl and that I brightened up her day. Haha... Hope she will put in some good words for me so I can get ma license.... ;x

Went back to the island after that and I started to get really busy... Ma Assistant Manager kept gettin' me to do this and that... Almost couldn't breathe!!

Thursday (yesterday)

Super busy for the whole day at work. Super crowded and many things to do.... But all I can say is that it's good practice. Much much better than before. I hope I will improve and learn more along the way... ^^

Took the night transport and I was the first to alight from the bus. Lol so I live the nearest from our workplace. I told ma colleague everyone on the bus was gonna be envious of me wahaha.

Friday (today)

Gonna do ma first midnight shift ever in ma life tonight... I'm somehow excited as I don't know what it's gonna be like! Anyway I'm meetin' ma colleague in the evening in town to get BB cream... Only Orchard Road has Etude House. And in Singapore there are only 2 Etude House outlets. They should open more outlets islandwide!!! And I thought of changin' ma cosmetics from Chanel to Laneige... I'm a supporter of Korean brands. ^^

Opening day of our 4 hotels

Yesterday was the opening day of the 4 hotels at our Integrated Resort... A crowd was expected outside our work area and true enough, there were MANY people. Especially uncles and aunties. We were kinda busy with enquiries though they weren't even supposed to enter the area. Even the security guard on duty couldn't stop them.

Emcee training is actually held today and not yesterday, there was some miscommunication. Anyway it was held at Hard Rock Hotel and first half of the training made us sleepy, and I dozed off. Somemore I was sittin' right in the first row, don't know if the trainer saw or not. Lol...

Each and everyone of us had to go to the front to give a 3-minute speech on a topic given by him. So he gave me a topic: ma favourite food. I talked about Korean food - bulgogi and bibimbab, Singaporean food like Hainanese Chicken Rice, Fried Hokkien Mee, Malay food such as Nasi Lemak and Indian food such as Roti Prata. I didn't exactly give it much thought, I just said whatever came to ma mind.

Apparently the trainer had no negative feedback about ma overall presentation. He said I've done very well and gave me a lot of positive comments. Hahaa I'm flattered... ;p

Towards the end of the day, he said that a few of us will be selected for further training.... In the first place I don't even know why I was selected for this training... Maybe coz I'm too noisy.... LALALALA.

Finally ma interview date is released!!! Been anxious about it... Well I just hope to get ma license and be able to work with the rest.... I don't wanna leave ;\\

Life at Sentosa

Let's talk about ma first week at the site. It was very happening coz I managed to stay at Hard Rock Hotel on Wednesday night and Hotel Michael on Friday night with ma colleagues... totally awwwwesome! Hotels are openin' 20 January (tomorrow in fact) so please try our hotels (the rooms are a little expensive though)....

Now goin' into the second week there... This week I'm on morning shift and I gotta sleep as early as 12am and wake up as early as 5am.... Omg totally not ma style!!!! I wake up at 5pm in the evening more like it (I believe everyone strongly agrees with me).

Life there isn't exactly good. First: it's too cold at ma workplace that even a cardigan is insufficient; perhaps I should wear a winter jacket. Second: the nightmare I once had for 9 years seems to be comin' back overnight, coz of the bloody dust from all the construction, and carbon monoxide at the carpark. Less than a week there and I'm struck with little zits on ma face again.... Shucks!

Oh my... Still got a week to pay day. I'm freakin' broke now and I need money to do sooo many things. Go back to ma skin specialist for a follow-up, pay ma credit card bill, etc etc. Sian daoooo!!

Anyway, today I volunteered ma'self for some event at the carpark, just coz I didn't wanna subject ma'self to roleplays and tests hahaha. But the opportunity cost is havin' ma nose and pores inhale all the carbon monoxide produced by huuuuge vehicles movin' around. Damn! It's too hot in the carpark too. And to add on, that "auntie" had to choose today to pay me a visit, so I really wanted to faint. Towards noon ma tummy cramp got worse and I ended up havin' to rest (or rather, NAP) at the lounge. And ma male colleague had to buy that Panadol for me.... Lol. Now that box of Panadol will be shared in the office for all ladies. ;p

And today at the carpark while walkin' into the resort premise, I bumped into Mediacorp artiste Huang Shi Nan and his friend maybe. I said Hello to him and he greeted me too. Hehehe.

Tomorrow I've got another training... Initially I was wonderin' why only the few of us are selected for this training but now come to think of it, I should be happy I'm given the chance to enrich ma'self. I will be happier if we're treated to good food during the training. Yippiee!

For the second time

Today I went to the hair salon for a hair cut. Ma hairdresser shifted from the Korean hair salon at Pacific Plaza to Orchard Central, and so I followed too, coz I have absolute faith in his skills... hehee. I recommended to Sharon who was so so worried about not lookin' nice with short hair. Apparently he cut Sharon's hair until damn damn nice! Even Sharon kept singin' his praises. Hahaha luckily I don't need a bashing from Sharon already ;X

Woohooo I don't need to bun up ma hair for work anymore!!!! Happy daoooo!!

Shall surprise everyone with ma new hairdo tomorrow... ;p

Inside the salon

One month

Today marks one month from the date I joined this big, big family. Everyone has been kind to me and I'm now exceptionally close to some colleagues - meals together, tea breaks together, sit together, walk together, go everywhere together, do everything together. Lol. I like this kinda closeness, feels very warm. ^^

Today a name list is out for interview dates with the regulatory authority. Everyone else in ma batch has gotten their interview date. Where is mine??? So worrying... ;((

And I still have not freakin' received any email from the Reservations side with regard to ma hotel bookings. Everyone else has gotten a room but not me..... shucks!!! I wanna stay at Hard Rock Hotel and Festive Hotel next weekend!!!! Or at least this comin' Wednesday night...

After much consideration, I've decided to say Goodbye to ma long hair.... together with me are a few other female colleagues. Hahaha we just can't stand bunnin' up our hair. And I SUPER exceptionally hate. SUPER not nice lor.... makes ma face even bigger and rounder... yuckss!!! Gonna cut it this Sunday already.... long hair, I will miss you!!

Lookin' forward to next week for we will not be at our current location anymore.... but I must say that the shift timings seem idiotic.... ;((

Roadshow on NYE

Roadshow on New Year's Eve last year... quite cool huh. It's ma first roadshow on a NYE in the entire 23 years of ma life. When I reached Keppel Club then I learned it was a countdown party for the club members if I'm not wrong. Had to promote to these rich people our Integrated Resort and invite them over on our opening day. Was teamed up with the 2 funny guys, Dave and Kent... at least ma evening wasn't so boring. :))

The roadshow ended at 8.15pm and we packed up. The sales dept lady drove us out to Vivocity there and then Kent and I proceeded to Chinatown for dinner with our other colleagues.
